About the philanthropies:

The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade was launched in 1992 as a small pioneering program in the U.K. Avon in the U.S. adopted the Crusade the following year. Over the last 18 years, Avon philanthropy has raised and donated more than $700 million to breast cancer programs around the world, supporting cutting-edge research to find a cure for or prevent breast cancer as well as programs that enable all patients to access quality care.
Funding supports awareness and education: screening and diagnosis; access to treatment; support services; and scientific research. Beneficiaries of the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade range from leading cancer research and clinical centers to community-based, non-profit breast health education programs.

The Asia Foundation is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization committed to the development of a peaceful, prosperous, just, and open Asia-Pacific region. The Foundation supports Asian initiatives to improve governance, law, and civil society; women’s empowerment; economic reform and development; sustainable development and the environment; and international relations. Drawing on nearly 60 years of experience in Asia, the Foundation collaborates with private and public partners to support leadership and institutional development, exchanges, and policy research.

With 18 offices throughout Asia, an office in Washington, DC, and its headquarters in San Francisco, the Foundationaddresses these issues on both a country and regional level. In 2010, the Foundation provided more than $98 million in program support and distributed nearly one million books and journals valued at over $42 million.

Fall 2011 Recruitment Week

We’re not just one genre.

With a network of 47 UF sisters and 47 other chapters across the nation and in Canada, our sisters have extraordinarily diverse backgrounds and personalities. Everyone brings her own voice to the table in aKDPhi, and we all carry our own tune to produce the beauty that comes with eternal sisterhood. We are girls with different ideas, but the concept of our organization would not exist without our individual strengths and passions for the sisterhood. We are girls who represent a variety of music genres, and, regardless of your own personal taste in music, we invite you to experience what we stand for.

We hope that, along the way, you’ll begin to hear your own melody among the harmony of this sisterhood.
