Positions held in aKDPhi: Secretary (Fall 2008-Spring 2010), Treasurer for Alumnae Association (Fall 2010-Spring 2011)

What I like: Cooking, traveling, learning.

What I do: In addition to aKDPhi, as an undergraduate I participated in service organizations such as Florida Alternative Breaks and pre-health clubs such as the Pre-professional Service Organization. I also did research on musculoskeletal pain for several years and eventually wrote my undergrad thesis on it. Currently I’m in medical school at the University of Florida and am enjoying every day of it!

Why I joined aKDPhi: When Vanessa (see sister #7), a friend since our middle school days who always had my best interests at heart, approached me about joining an interest group to form a sorority I quickly took up the offer. She asked me to join the summer after I graduated high school and 1.5 years after we began, aKDPhi was finally established at UF. Our journey to establish aKDPhi was a long one, but I’m so happy to have been able to a part of it. Among my sisters, I found people who inspire me with their humor, upbeat demeanor, support, and encouragement that I never thought I would have found given another million years of searching. Even after graduating college, my sisters and I still keep in touch and spend time with each other when we’re available.
