Why I joined aKDPhi: I had passion and aspirations to lead me through my first year of college, but somewhere along the way, I lost sight of my surroundings. During my freshman year, I joined many different organizations as a student member and met amazing people along the way. It was fun and refreshing, but I still didn’t find a place to call home.

In my second year of college, I became unsatisfied with the direction of my life. I felt like everything I had done previously, now seemed insignificant. So, everything I thought I knew, turned into a question, “Why are you doing this?” I was looking for a home but did not know how to find it. Instead, a leap of faith showed me the answer during my first aKDPhi rush event.

Through that first rush event, I knew that aKDPhi was a place, and a sisterhood, that I could home. This realization pushed me to join aKDPhi and has brought me to where I am today. I am confident that I will have these women, sisters, behind me as I continue the journey ahead of me.
